Muncie, IN—Minnetrista Museum & Gardens, has announced the adoption of a dual leadership model, effective January 2026, designed to enhance strategic capacity and support the organization’s continued growth and community impact. Under this structure, Brian Statz will continue serving as Chief Executive Officer, and Lindsey Horan has been named President.
The new leadership structure was initiated by Statz and developed in collaboration with Minnetrista’s Board leadership and Executive Committee, reflecting a forward-thinking approach to governance and long-term organizational sustainability.
In the dual leadership model, both the CEO and President will report directly to Minnetrista’s Board of Trustees and will each maintain autonomous leadership of their respective areas. Key organizational priorities—including strategic planning, performance measurement, and annual budgeting—will be managed collaboratively to ensure alignment, accountability, and shared vision.
“This model allows Minnetrista to lead with both strategic clarity and operational strength,” said Statz. “By intentionally sharing leadership at the highest level, we are better positioned to advance our mission and respond to the evolving needs of our community.”
“This structure reflects the collaborative leadership culture that already exists at Minnetrista,” Horan added. “I am honored that the Board has asked me to step into this role, and I look forward to expanding my partnership with Brian to continue delivering meaningful experiences to our community.”
Board leadership emphasized that the transition supports strong governance and long-term impact.
“This decision reflects the Board’s confidence in Minnetrista’s leadership and our commitment to the organization’s future,” said Sara Shade Hamilton, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “The dual leadership model enhances strategic oversight while ensuring Minnetrista remains mission-driven, resilient, and well-positioned for continued growth.”
Brian Statz joined Minnetrista in January 2023 and has served as President and Chief Executive Officer during that time. Previously, Statz worked at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis where he served as Vice President of Operations and General Counsel for 15 years.
Lindsey Horan came to Minnetrista as the Vice President of Philanthropy in 2019 and has served in a variety of leadership roles in her six years with the Museum. Horan holds a Master of Public Affairs from the O’Neil School of Public & Environmental Affairs at Indiana University and is a proud Certified Fund Raising Executive.
