Visitor Policies

Restrooms

Public restrooms are available during open hours at the Center Building and Education Center, and a portable restroom is available in the Nature Area. Bathrooms are also located on the first floor of the Oakhurst home and L.L. Ball home for Minnetrista members and visitors with admission tickets. View our campus map for details.

Accessibility

Minnetrista’s Center Building, Oakhurst home, the first floor of the L.L. Ball home, and many of the garden paths are wheelchair-accessible. The second floor of the L.L. Ball home is not yet wheelchair accessible. 

Animals

All dogs on Minnetrista property must be on a leash. Service animals and service animals in training are permitted inside Minnetrista buildings; other animals are not permitted inside Minnetrista buildings. No animals may be left unattended in any vehicle on Minnetrista property.

Photo Consent

All persons entering onto Minnetrista property hereby consent to grant Minnetrista and its employees, agents and assignees permission to reproduce, use, display publicly, distribute, publish, and republish in the furtherance of Minnetrista’s business, including but not limited to exhibits, advertisements, websites, social media, and other displays, in any media whatsoever, their likeness and voice with or without the use of their name and without compensation to them; and (2) hereby release Minnetrista and its employees, agents and assignees from and against any and all claims based upon or arising out of the reproduction, use, display, distribution, or publication of my likeness or voice.

Photography/Videography

Photography and videography for personal enjoyment are encouraged! Please share your photos with us via our social media accounts by tagging our page and using the hashtag #minnetrista. Tripods and a standard flash are permitted; additional photographic equipment and props are prohibited.

To help us preserve the outdoor sculptures, gardens, and experience for all visitors, please do not climb, lean, or sit on any sculptural elements, remain on the pathways, and do not use glitter or confetti. Staged photography is not permitted inside the buildings. This includes the Center Building, the Orchard Shop, the Oakhurst home, and the L.L. Ball home.

Professional Photographers and Videographers must become a member of Minnetrista at the photographer level. Funds directly support the maintenance and development of the grounds at Minnetrista. Terms and conditions can be found here.

Weapons

No weapons of any kind are allowed on Minnetrista property, including but not limited to the Minnetrista buildings and campus. However, weapons may be stored securely in locked vehicles in the Minnetrista parking areas.

FAQs

How much are tickets?

  • Tickets for non-residents are $15 for adults, $12 for children ages 4-12, and free for children 3 and under. If you live in Delaware, Blackford, Grant, Jay, Randolph, Henry, or Madison county of Indiana prices are $8 for adults, $6 for children ages 4-12, and free for ages 3 and under. Is Bob Ross Experience included in that ticket price?

  • Yes, it is! One admission ticket gives you entry to the Bob Ross Experience, Oakhurst Experience, and any exhibitions running in our Center Building during your visit.

Is it the same price if I don’t visit the Bob Ross Experience?

  • Yes, it is. Tickets include all exhibit experiences on campus.

What is included with the purchase of a ticket?

How do I purchase tickets?

  • Tickets can be purchased online here, by calling our front desk at 765.282.4848, or by visiting our front desk in person.

Do you have a senior, student, or veteran discount?

  • Minnetrista does not currently offer a senior or student discount on tickets. People in those groups who are concerned about the price of a ticket are encouraged to consider joining our affordable Museums for All membership program. More information on Museums for All can be found here. Minnetrista does offer a Military discount to active duty and retired service members. Learn more here.

What are your hours?

  • We are open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays from Noon-5 p.m. We are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Where is the Bob Ross Experience Located?

  • The Experience is located in the L.L. Ball Home on the southwest end of our campus. Find our campus map here.

Is it true that all of the Bob Ross Painting Workshops are sold out?

  • Our Bob Ross painting workshops do tend to sell out quickly. Check out our Events Calendar to view all upcoming classes. If classes are all sold out, call 765.282.4848 to be added to our workshop waitlist.

Can I use drones at Minnetrista?

  • No unmanned aircraft system (UAS), otherwise known as a drone, is permitted to take off or land on Minnetrista property without the prior express permission of Minnetrista management. Management may be reached at 765-282-4848.

Who can I speak with about accessibility accommodation needs and questions?

  • With the exception of the second floor of the LL Ball Home, where the Bob Ross gallery and painting workshops are located, the public buildings at Minnetrista are physically accessible. The campus is outfitted with a variety of other accessibility accommodations. If you or someone in your party has accessibility needs, please call us at 765.282.4848 or email info@minnetrista.net to discuss arrangements. 48-hour advance notice is appreciated.

Is Minnetrista operating under any COVID restrictions?

  • At this time, Minnetrista does not require visitors to masks. Masks are always welcome, and we continue to have masks available in public buildings for those who might want them. Staff are required to mask when community risk levels for Delaware County are categorized as high.

What are your sanitation and health protection processes?

  • Restrooms, elevators, handrails, exhibit interactives, and other high-touch areas are frequently sanitized. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout our buildings.

Where should I park?

  • Nature Area – a spacious gravel parking lot is entered via St Joseph

  • Center Building – this large paved lot is adjacent to the Center Building and is accessed by two entrances off Minnetrista Parkway.

  • The Orchard Shop –  The Shop has a dedicated paved lot (accessible via St Joseph) and is also convenient to the Center Building lot described above.

  • Oakhurst Experience, Oakhurst Gardens, and Bob Ross Experience – a large paved lot is located between the two historic homes off Minnetrista Boulevard.

  • Special Events – Minnetrista frequently utilizes the Delaware County Fairgrounds for overflow parking at large events like Farmers Market, Faeries, Sprites, & Lights, and Enchanted Luminaria Walk. Check our social media accounts for additional parking information related to the specific event you will be attending.
