Minnetrista’s Center Building, Oakhurst home, the first floor of the L.L. Ball home, The Orchard Shop, and many of the garden paths are wheelchair accessible. The second floor of the L.L. Ball home is currently accessible only via stairs. Visitors using walkers and canes will find most areas accessible as well but should be mindful of uneven surfaces throughout the outdoor spaces.
Visitors can borrow one of our wheelchairs, free of charge, on a first-come, first-served basis. Standard wheelchairs are available at the Center Building, the LL Ball home (Bob Ross Experience) and the Oakhurst Home. An extra-wide wheelchair is available at the Center Building.
Golf cart tours are available, upon request and weather permitting, for visitors with mobility challenges who can transfer to a golf cart. These tours can be customized to your visitation goals and can include a portion of our Nature Area.

Minnetrista exhibits frequently feature interactive items that can be explored through touch. With notice, sighted guides can be arranged for exhibition visits. For events where programs are distributed like Faeries, Sprites & Lights and Enchanted Luminaria Walk, large print materials are available, upon request, at entry points.

Minnetrista’s exhibitions are supported by labels and interpretive panels. Many videos presented in the Museum’s Theatre are captioned, using a mix of professional and automated captioning.
