Muncie, IN—The Farmers Market at Minnetrista Museum & Gardens returns for the outdoor season beginning Saturday, May 2, inviting the community to shop locally and connect with growers, makers, and artisans from across East Central Indiana. The outdoor Farmers Market will take place every Saturday from May through October, from 9 a.m. to noon, on Minnetrista’s campus in the main parking lot.

On Saturday, May 9, the Farmers Market will also be part of Garden Fair at Minnetrista, featuring extended market hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors can explore a wide variety of locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, handmade items, flowers, meats, honey, artisan products, and more while enjoying one of Minnetrista’s signature spring traditions.

Throughout the season, select market dates will also feature onsite blood drives with the Versiti Blood Center of Indiana, offering visitors an opportunity to support community health while attending the market.

This season also introduces a new Veggie Voucher program designed to encourage healthy choices for young visitors. During each outdoor market, the first 50 children to visit the welcome booth will receive a $2 Veggie Voucher redeemable for fresh fruits or vegetables from participating vendors.

“The Farmers Market has always been about more than shopping,” says Avi Rothe, Farmers Market Manager at Minnetrista. “It’s about building connections within our community, supporting local growers and makers, and creating experiences that bring people together week after week. We’re especially excited to introduce new opportunities this year that encourage wellness, community engagement, and healthy habits for families.”

The Farmers Market at Minnetrista accepts a variety of nutrition assistance benefits. Visitors can check in at the welcome booth to learn more and access benefits for use at participating vendors, helping expand access to fresh, local food throughout the community.
