Muncie, IN— Homeschool families are invited to a fun-filled day of educational activities across Minnetrista Museum & Gardens’ campus on Friday, May 22, from 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Designed for students in prekindergarten through 6th grade, Homeschool Day encourages curiosity, creativity, and active learning through hands-on activities and interactive experiences, while guests of all ages can enjoy exploring exhibitions, historic homes, and scenic nature trails throughout campus.

“We love creating opportunities for homeschool families to learn together outside of a traditional classroom setting,” said Karen Nickel, Educational Program Manager. “Homeschool Day gives children the chance to explore, create, ask questions, and engage with the world around them through hands-on activities that make learning memorable and fun.”

Families can participate in a variety of engaging activities throughout the day, including:

  • Building and creating with Imagination Playground

  • Exploring community resources with the Muncie Public Library

  • Learning through a hands-on land management interactive table

  • Discovering insect-themed activities

  • Identifying birds and learning more about local wildlife

  • Learning traditional wool spinning

  • Exploring campus through a family-friendly scavenger hunt

Guests will also have the opportunity to explore Minnetrista’s current exhibitions, including Wallace & Gromit™: Get Cracking! and America at 250: Reflections on Community. Historic homes, gardens, and nature areas across campus will also be open for families to enjoy throughout the day.

Admission is $6 per child and includes free admission for two adults with each child ticket. Additional adult tickets are $7 each. Tickets can be purchased online through our website or at the front desk in the Center Building. For more information, visit minnetrista.net. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, and LinkedIn for the most up-to-date information on our exhibitions and events.
