Whimsical Fun and Fairytale Mix-Ups: Faeries, Sprites, & Lights 2025

Oakhurst Gardens came alive with magic, laughter, and plenty of sparkle during this year’s Faeries, Sprites, & Lights. Over the course of three enchanted evenings—and a special sensory-friendly session—more than 2,500 guests explored a glowing garden filled with games, crafts, music, and fairytale characters unlike anything seen before.

This year’s storyline included a number of delightful twists, thanks to the mischievous Oakhurst Garden faeries who had swapped all the characters’ stories. Thumbelina had lost her wings but acquired the Hatter’s tea set. The Hatter, in turn, ended up with the Muffin Man’s recipe book—but no tea set in sight. Meanwhile, the Muffin Man was baking without a recipe and carrying Jack’s magical beans.

Goldilocks found herself confused, thinking she was living out The Three Little Pigs instead of her usual porridge-fueled tale. B.B. Wolf was sporting a pig nose and found a home at each of the pigs’ abodes. Jack Andi Beanstalk had lost his beans and ended up with Thumbelina’s wings instead. Red Riding Hood was completely lost—but when the faeries corrected the stories, she was the one who proudly led the End of the Night Parade out of Oakhurst Gardens.

Throughout the evening, families enjoyed a flower ring toss, glitter tattoos, and a faerie friendship bracelet craft. Guests wandered along twinkling paths to find hidden faerie houses tucked into the forest floor, posed for photos with the iconic toadstool trio, and danced to live music from Adam Riviere and Patchwork. The Fae Café served up themed treats such as “Treasure Chests” and glittering “Faerie Nectar” drinks, while Betty’s Magic Marketplace offered wings, wands, and whimsical gifts to take the magic home.

Even a little rain couldn’t dampen the fun! Each session offered guests a new opportunity to experience the magic in full—wandering glowing paths, enjoying hands-on activities, and immersing themselves in a world where fairytales and fantasy came to life under the stars.

Thank you to all who joined us in keeping Betty’s story alive. Whether enjoying “Sprite’s Bites” (cookies) or collecting stamps from our Fae Friends, we are grateful you were part of the magic. Until next year, faeries.
