National Pollinator Week

Free community days

Join us to celebrate National Pollinator Week at Minnetrista. Each day a new activity will be available to teach kids about the exciting world of pollination and the ways it affects our natural environment. Throw seed bombs, dance like a bee, and become a milkweed master to learn more about the important role pollinators play in our world and how you can help them thrive!

Schedule:

Monday, 6/21

Pollinator Photo Hunt | Virtual
Pollinators are all around! Butterflies, bees, beetles, ants, and hummingbirds are just a few examples of these important animals that help plants grow. Explore your backyard, neighborhood, park, or even Minnetrista’s gardens while staying on the lookout for pollinators of all shapes and sizes.

Seed Bomb Throwing | Nature Area, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Take aim to help pollinators! Throw seed bombs in our Nature Area, which will later sprout into wildflowers and provide food and shelter for pollinators.

Sunday, 6/27

Butterfly Host Planting | Moon Garden Lawn, 1-4 p.m.
Grow a home for swallowtail butterflies! Plant fennel or dill seeds to take home with you, and as they grow, be on the lookout for swallowtail butterfly eggs and caterpillars!
