Bookbinding Workshop: Coptic Binding

  • Cantina, Center Building, Minnetrista Museum & Gardens 1200 North Minnetrista Parkway Muncie, IN, 47303 United States (map)

Cost: $35 | Member Discounts Apply | Ages 13+

Discover the art of traditional bookbinding in this hands-on workshop! Students will learn how to create a classic Coptic-bound book by sewing together folded booklets (called signatures) to form a beautiful exposed spine that allows pages to lay perfectly flat. Participants will choose from an array of decorative and handcrafted papers to personalize their project, making each book truly one of a kind. This historic binding technique is ideal for sketchbooks, journals, or creative projects that benefit from smooth page movement.

All tools and supplies will be provided. Preregistration is strongly preferred; limited walk-in tickets may be available—please call ahead.
