Dear Friends of Minnetrista,

Thank you for reading this latest edition of Columns! We hope you enjoy learning about our upcoming events and exhibitions, our newest team members, Minnetrista’s role in returning a historic clock to our neighbors, and the generosity of the organizations and people like you who allow us to continue to serve the people of East Central Indiana and beyond. 

We find ourselves at an important moment in Minnetrista’s history, when resources and opportunities have converged to give us the chance to do remarkable things for our region, and you will be a part of it! Over the last few years, our Board and staff have worked hard to balance efficient, cost-effective operations with our mission to reach out to all people in the community and provide exceptional exhibitions, programs, and events. These efforts have forged a Minnetrista team that is disciplined and determined to make Minnetrista a world-class destination for everyone to enjoy. 

Our efforts received a wonderful boost earlier this year when we received a large grant from Lilly Endowment Inc., described in detail later in this issue. That gift, combined with the generous support we receive from you, will help us improve and strengthen our museum and gardens for years to come, and it will make our campus more welcoming and accessible for you. In the coming years, we will keep you updated on our work to restore our historic homes, complete upgrades and repairs to our Center Building, make our galleries and gardens more accessible for all visitors, and improve your experience in our Nature Area.
