As we write our first letter to you together, we are struck by how fortunate we
are to be part of a community that believes so deeply in the power of history, creativity, and shared experiences. Museums exist to preserve the past, but
just as importantly, they help communities imagine and build a better future.
At Minnetrista, we see that happen every day, in collaboration with neighbors
like you.

In this issue, you will read about several ways our work continues to connect our region’s story to the broader American narrative. As the nation approaches the 250th anniversary of its founding, Minnetrista is preparing two upcoming exhibitions that explore the profound ways Indiana has shaped American identity. From innovation and industry to culture and civic life, our state’s stories are essential threads in the larger fabric of the country.

You will also meet a new member of our team whose work reminds us that hospitality is about far more than what appears on a plate. Our new Hospitality Manager brings a philosophy of service rooted in care, storytelling, and connection. By drawing inspiration from Minnetrista’s history and mission, she is creating culinary experiences that reflect the place we call home.

At the same time, we continue to hold space for the stories that challenge and teach us. Our recent exhibition, Emmett Till & Mamie Till-Mobley: Let the World See, has been a powerful reminder of the role museums play in helping communities engage with difficult histories. During a recent visit to Minnetrista, Emmett Till’s cousin, Joshua Harris-Till, shared reflections that resonated deeply with many in our community. His message—that understanding the past can inspire hope and responsibility for the future—captures the very heart of what we strive to do.

None of this work happens in isolation. It is made possible by the generosity, curiosity, and commitment of people like you. Your support ensures that Minnetrista remains a place where stories are shared, conversations are sparked, and our community continues to grow stronger together.

Thank you for being part of this work and for helping sustain Minnetrista for generations to come.

With gratitude,

Lindsey Horan, President & Brian Statz, CEO

In addition to crafting, Shanna also plays guitar for the Praise Team at her church and enjoys spending time with her family.

Andrew Catey, Signature Events & Theatre Manager, is from Adams County and attended Ball State University, where he earned a degree in Media Production focusing on live events.
