Give The Gift of Yummy Canned Goods This Holiday Season!

“Happy Holidays! Happy Holidays! While the merry bells keep ringing May your every wish come true!”

Yes, that’s right. It’s time to start thinking about the holidays. I’m sure many of you have begun to be bombarded by all of the Christmas gifts, decorations, and music in the stores already. For some of you, this time of the year is so exciting and wonderful. Others are less than enthused by all of the hype. Regardless, many of us get a bit of anxiety about what we should buy for those certain people in our lives who seem to have everything. Or we want to give people something that has meaning and comes from the heart. Well, worry no longer. I have the perfect idea for you!

Great Recipes

Some of my favorite gift-giving recipes are jellies. I like to give items that sound unique and look appealing. One of my go-to recipes is Champagne Blush Jelly. You can find it here.

For this recipe, raspberry juice and champagne are combined to make a beautiful and delicious spread. This is always a winner for fun gifts. For a deeper, richer color, try wine jellies, such as berry wine jelly or red wine jelly—both found in the Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving. If you prefer non alcoholic options, there are plenty to choose from. Some of the best recipes for the winter holiday season are orange marmalade and cranberry jams such as cranberry orange pear jam. Find them here and here.

Personalized Labels

To make these gifts extra special, add a bit of something to each jar to give it even more of a personal touch. Consider picking some great fabric to put on the top of the jar, between the seal and the ring. Or make some wonderful, personalized labels for the jars.
