A long time ago, little girl through her vivid imagination, created a faerie wonderland in her own back yard. Her name was Elisabeth Ball, she held tea parties, made little magic boxes and carefully left them in the gardens to attract the faeries. Nearly 100 years later, the imagination lives on in Oakhurst Gardens at Minnetrista, with Faeries, Sprites, and Lights. Muncie, IN— Kids! Camp Minnetrista invites you and your friends to spend the night in the Nature Area at Minnetrista. Camp Minnetrista: Night at the Museum hosts an outdoor campout on July15–16, for kids ages eight to twelve. Campers arrive at 7 p.m. on Friday and stay until 9:30 a.m. Saturday after waking and having breakfast. Bring your own sleeping bag, and Minnetrista will supply the tents! Frogs, owls and other critters will create a night-time symphony to fall to sleep by. Learn about the lives and behavior of nocturnal animals; make your own snack, and cook over the campfire; also enjoy storytelling with Lenape Indian legends.

Minnetrista is pleased to announce the opening of Dig Set Spike June 18. This exciting exhibit chronicles the regional history of volleyball. In the nation, there are three cities known to produce world-class female volleyball players and extraordinary volleyball coaches for women’s teams: Los Angeles, Chicago, and Muncie. Dig Set Spike celebrates the sport, the players, the coaches, and the history of volleyball in East Central Indiana. In this exhibit, visitors will explore volleyball in fresh and interactive ways as they meet young players and find out how volleyball has changed their lives. Visitors will discover the role this region of Indiana has played in the development of the great American sport of volleyball.

more than 1,300 museums across America to offer free admission to all

duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day through
Labor Day
