Muncie Exchange Club Hosts 1,000 Flags of Honor at Minnetrista

“Flags of Honor Field” brings community members together in support and appreciation

Muncie, IN– The public will be met with a ‘sea’ of red, white, and blue September 4 through 11 as 1,000 American flags adorn Minnetrista’s lawn beside the White River Greenway. The “Flags of Honor Field” is hosted by the Muncie Exchange Club in honor and memory of local veterans, current service personnel, fallen heroes, and all who wish to display their pride for our country.

Friends, families, and organizations can purchase an individual flag for $30 to display during the designated event dates. This fee includes a personal dedication to a loved one in the form of a Memorial Ribbon and a patriotic postcard. Participants can choose to take their flag home at the close of the event or donate it to the Muncie Exchange Club for future use.

“We have all lost someone who loved what our country stands for. We feel this is an opportunity to pause our busy lives, come together as a community, honor our loved ones, and remember why our country and the freedoms we have are so great,” said Rebecca Gill, incoming Muncie Exchange Club president.

The “Flags of Honor Field” is an opportunity for the Muncie Exchange Club and Minnetrista to further their missions of community engagement through celebration of the many freedoms that have made our country prosperous. The Muncie Exchange Club is looking to make this an annual event and opportunity for families and visitors to join together once a year at Minnetrista in a united show of patriotism. Event proceeds benefit the charities supported by Muncie Exchange Club, focusing on child abuse and patriotism.

The ‘Flags of Honor Field” will be on display from September 4 through 11 at Minnetrista, with a remembrance program held at the close of the event. Interested sponsors can visit or email to purchase a flag. Flag sales begin on June 8, online and at the Farmers Market at Minnetrista “Flags of Honor Field” sponsorship booth.

Upcoming event details and additional information can be found at or by calling Minnetrista at (765) 282-4848.

The Muncie Exchange Club is a service organization focused on promotion of patriotism, child abuse prevention, and community service. “Flags of Honor Field” is sponsored by the City of Muncie.
