Crawl, scuttle, jump, and wriggle your way to Minnetrista’s new exhibit!

Muncie, IN– Discover bugs up close and larger-than-life through enormous insect replicas, beginning June 1 at Minnetrista! Jump into the intriguing world of bugs as you and your family explore their hidden secrets and fascinating quirks in two creepily-entertaining exhibits.

BUGS: Outside the Box –View a butterfly with a five-foot wingspan, a beetle with pinchers the size of your head, and a giant cicada that’s as tall as a person! Explore insect anatomy; observe preserved bug species; and reveal how insects have evolved over time in this ENORMOUS insect exhibit.

Wicked Bugs—Explore the relationship between insects, humans, and the natural world in this eerie exhibit—unveiling the darker side of bugs and their path of destruction throughout history. Discover the louse that conquered Napoleon’s army, which insect is responsible for ravaging entire continents, a gardener’s most-unlikely nemesis, and which pest is the deadliest!

BUGS: Outside the Box and Wicked Bugs are on exhibit June 1 through August 25 at Minnetrista. Exhibit hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5; Minnetrista members and children under three are free.

Experience even more insect adventures this summer at Family Fun Day at Minnetrista: BUGS, June 15 from Noon to 4 p.m. Create insect art with hissing cockroaches, view a bee colony up close, explore exciting bug exhibits, and participate in an interactive bug show with live critters!
