Kids explore fitness and nutrition in Eat Well, Play Well exhibit!

Muncie, IN—Families can test their wellbeing knowledge and skills at Eat Well, Play Well, an interactive exhibit about healthy living, beginning January 19, at Minnetrista.

Kids and parents will have the opportunity to start the New Year in a positive light, through engaging activity stations that test flexibility, balance, and nutrition know-how. Kids can experience all of the exciting stations including “Supermarket Nutrition,” “Veggie Power,” “Advertising Detectives,” “The Power of Exercise,” and many more! Families will explore the truths about relevant health questions such as how day-to-day exercise routines and food intake affect the body and mind.

With the objective of bringing key learning tools directly to the community, Eat Well, Play Well encourages discovery of healthy food choices while engaging visitors in fun ways to be active as a family. Eat Well, Play Well teaches the importance of nutrition and fitness in everyday life, inspiring parents and kids to take that leap toward a brand-new start for their family’s wellbeing.

Eat Well, Play Well is on exhibit beginning January 19 through May 12 at Minnetrista. Exhibit hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5; Minnetrista members and children under three are free.

You can be a part of the exhibit’s grand opening at Eat Well, Play Well Free Day at Minnetrista—a community day for families to visit the exhibit, pick up wellness handouts and play interactive health games, view a live performance of My Plate: The Musical by Minnetrista Theatre Preserves, and visit Farmers Market at Minnetrista for nutritious food options! Presented by IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Eat Well, Play Well is produced and toured by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry and made possible by a Science Education Partnership Award grant from the National Center for Research Resources, a component of the National Institutes of Health. Exhibit is sponsored by IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Foundation.
