Get ready to rock on the East Lawn!

Summer Stage Fest at Minnetrista kicks off with local group Generation Gap

Muncie, IN— Saturday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. kicks off the outdoor performance series Summer Stage Fest at Minnetrista with local musical group Generation Gap.

Bring your picnic basket, lawn chairs, and all your family and friends; Generation Gap has something for everyone! Their playlist ranges from contemporary to classic. Whether you are a fan of country, pop, or rock and roll, they’re sure to play some of your favorites.

Generation Gap is a six-member group hailing from East Central Indiana. They truly are bridging the generation gap--their youngest musician is a mere 12 years old; their oldest, 42.  Several of their members are award-winning musicians and members of other groups such as The Indianapolis Men’s Chorus and local band Byaxident.

Keyboard player and vocalist Alan Alder serves on the Board of Directors for the Celebration Entertainment Academy in La Verne, California. His brother, Cory Alder (lead vocals and drums) has even performed at the Grand Ole Opry. Shanda Smith, lead vocals, lived in Tennessee for nine years and performed Christmas show with Dolly Parton herself. Generation Gap is not your run-of-the-mill family band!

Summer Stage Fest is a free, family-friendly event. Upcoming performances include the American Hometown Band (and an amazing fireworks display) on July 4, the Muncie Civic Theatre, August 4, and Muncie Symphony Orchestra, August 22. Mark your calendars for these fun, free events!

General admission to Minnetrista is free from 5:30–7:30 p.m. before the concert starts, so come early and visit GLASS: A Juried Art Show, Tucker’s Trials & Lucky’s Back, or the new Away From Home: Civil War Letters exhibit.
