Summer Nature Field Trip

Take a look outside and find out what is really going on in our natural world. Discover the beauty of nature through exploration of our gardens and nature area. Make a miniature cane fishing pole to take home; hike through our Nature Area to learn more about trees of Indiana; and dive into the world of animal science through the use of feathers, pelts and bones.

How We Work: Body Science Field Trip

Humans aren’t really that different from their furry companions. Take a look at how veterinary science has helped to cure animals as well as help us learn about our own bodies! Visit the Tucker’s Trials and Lucky’s Back exhibit, pretend to be a vet and learn how they handle common animal medical needs, then dissect a 3-D plastic frog to learn more about how organs, bones and tissues work together inside our bodies.

For more information, visit or call (765) 282-4848. Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the most up to date information on our exhibits and events.

Located along historic White River, Minnetrista includes 40 acres of beautiful gardens and grounds, a modern museum facility, an historic home, Nature Area, numerous sculptures, and a portion of the White River Greenway.
