Minnetrista is Raising the Roof!

Muncie, IN—Every building tells a story—discover the stories behind structures we spend ninety percent of our lives within at Raise the Roof: An Exhibit about Buildings at Minnetrista, opening Saturday, January 14–May 20.

Raise the Roof: An Exhibit about Buildings challenges visitors young and old to explore the design and construction of structures through interactive experiences. Visitors can raise a domed roof and then allow it to collapse around them; experiment with a house model called The Downdraft House and learn about carbon monoxide poisoning in homes and the airflow indicators. Like explosions? The Art & Science of Demolition will surly provide excitement and education on building demolition. Building structures don’t just apply to humans as you’ll learn in Dogtastrophe, a fun and playful interactive area inviting you to test your skills and material choices against not-so-natural disasters, come experience these and more!

Raise the Roof: An Exhibit about Buildings is created by the Science Museum of Minnesota. Activities in relation to this exhibit are made possible in part by a grants received from the American Architectural Foundation and the Indiana Architectural Foundation. Other related events and activities surrounding Raise the Roof: An Exhibit about Buildings are After 5 at Minnetrista: Raise the Roof, on February 1, a 21 and over event in cooperation with Muncie Young Professionals; March 24, Family Fun Day: Architecture, an event for families of all ages will take place.
