Smithsonian magazine Museum Day at Minnetrista!


Muncie, IN—Saturday, September 24 is Smithsonian magazine Museum Day allowing free admission at Minnetrista for two, for those presenting an official Museum Day ticket.


Museum Day was created in the spirit of Smithsonian Museums, who offer free admission every day. Museum Day is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian magazine allowing participating museums across the country to offer free admission to a visitor and guest who provide the official Museum Day ticket. Tickets are free and available to download and print from .


Visitors who come to Minnetrista September 24 will enjoy two new exhibits opening on Museum Day at Minnetrista. Bone Zone Carnival of Healthy Choices and Open Space: Art About the Land. Bone Zone takes visitors on a carnival-themed adventure as they learn about healthy choices for healthy bones. This exhibit supports the Let’s Move! Museums and Gardens initiative. Open Space: Art About The Land is an annual competition and exhibition showcasing works by artists inspired by the natural open spaces of Indiana. Sculptures, paintings, pottery and more will be included in the exhibit.


What would a Saturday be without taking advantage of Farmers Market at Minnetrista from 8 a.m. to noon and  the final day for Minnetrista’s Barn Sale? The sale takes place Thursday, September 22–Saturday, September 24. Hours for Thursday and Friday are 9 a.m.–4 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m–4 p.m.
