    For the second year in a row, Minnetrista is providing an Educators Appreciation NightOn Thursday, September 8; 5:30—7:30 p.m., teachers and administrators are invited to Minnetrista for an evening of food, fun, and prizes. The FREE event is open to all teachers and administrators in East Central Indiana and is a way for Minnetrista to say thank you to educators for their dedication to the education of the children in our communities.

    Muncie, IN—Gather outside on the Orchard Shop patio and enjoy a tapas style indulgence for After 5 at Minnetrista: Sampling in the Sun on Wednesday, September 7 at 5:30 p.m. Ensure your seat for this event by registering before Monday, August 29. Cost is $15 per person and all participants must be 21 years of age or older. Join certified chefs Charles Redmon, CEC and Bridgette Kuhns, CC of the American Culinary Federation, East Central Indiana Chapter as they create samples of main dish items and desserts. Most food items will come from vendors of Minnetrista Farmers Market.

    Country music artists Greg and Heather Rhodes were schedule to launch the outdoor performance series Summer Stage Fest at Minnetrista earlier this year. Rainy weather cancelled the concert, but fans can still enjoy the duo in concert August 20 at 7 p.m. at Minnetrista. Bring your picnic basket, spread out your blanket and spend the evening with country artists, Greg and Heather Rhodes as they croon their way into a summer night.

    Forty-seven energetic and talented youths will fill the stage during Summer Stage Fest at Minnetrista on July 29 and 30 in Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr., a production by the Muncie Civic Theatre. Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr. brings many memorable educational songs from the animated television shorts of the 1970’s to life in this fun filled performance, made up entirely of a cast of youth from the area community.

    A long time ago, little girl through her vivid imagination, created a faerie wonderland in her own back yard. Her name was Elisabeth Ball, she held tea parties, made little magic boxes and carefully left them in the gardens to attract the faeries. Nearly 100 years later, the imagination lives on in Oakhurst Gardens at Minnetrista, with Faeries, Sprites, and Lights. A family extravaganza, come take part in this midsummer enchantment with faeries and sprites from far and wide. July 8 & 9 from 6–9 p.m.

    July 20; 2–4 p.m.
    Learn about the thirty-seventh President of the United States, Richard Nixon. One of the most controversial presidents or our time, this is the actual story of the president who rose to power and reached out to the two great communist powers of the world at the time, the Soviet Union and China. An open discussion follows the program.

    Muncie, IN— Kids! Camp Minnetrista invites you and your friends to spend the night in the Nature Area at Minnetrista. Camp Minnetrista: Night at the Museum hosts an outdoor campout on July15–16, for kids ages eight to twelve. Campers arrive at 7 p.m. on Friday and stay until 9:30 a.m. Saturday after waking and having breakfast. Bring your own sleeping bag, and Minnetrista will supply the tents! Frogs, owls and other critters will create a night-time symphony to fall to sleep by. Learn about the lives and behavior of nocturnal animals; make your own snack, and cook over the campfire; also enjoy storytelling with Lenape Indian legends.

    Minnetrista is pleased to join Let’s Move! Museums and Gardens, an initiative of First Lady Michelle Obama and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Launched by the First Lady on May 23 at the annual meeting of the American Association of Museums, this initiative is designed to educate children and their families about healthy food choices and promote physical activity.
