Farmers Market at Minnetrista has moved indoors for the winter! Join Minnetrista for a special winter food tasting experience on November 15 and December 20, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Indoor market takes place every third Saturday of the month from November through April.
On November 15 and December 20, try FREE, delicious samples from your favorite Farmers Market vendors.
Minnetrista has partnered with Ball State University’s Honors College and the Robert Cooper Audubon Society for a new and collaborative exhibit, Passenger Pigeons, which is open through March 1, 2015 at Minnetrista.
Explore the story of this fascinating bird, once one of the most abundant birds in the world and in East Central Indiana, before the species became extinct in 1914.
Passenger Pigeons is open through March 1, 2015 at Minnetrista. Visit the exhibit from Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, FREE for members.
Accompanying the Passenger Pigeons exhibit at Minnetrista will be a FREE evening event with author Joel Greenberg, which takes place on November 10 at 7 p.m.
Joel Greenberg will be speaking about his book, A Feathered River Across the Sky, the first book about the passenger pigeon since a 1950 monograph.
“I think that even people who have no interest in an extinct bird species will find they’re entertained by his talk,” said Stedman.
You and your family can join the Robert Cooper Audubon Society for FREE monthly bird walks on the historic grounds of Minnetrista. Bird walks take place November through March, on the second Sunday of each month.
Binoculars and field guides will be provided with each walk. After walking with new and old friends, stop by the Center Building at Minnetrista for some re-energizing snacks.
Bird walks are 1 to 3 p.m. on November 9, January 11, February 8, and March 8. A special Family Christmas Bird Count will take place on December 14, from 1 to 2 p.m.
Create jolly, holiday ornaments the Glass Workshop: Glass Fusing Holiday Ornaments at Minnetrista. During the workshop on November 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., create a charming and delightful glass-fused ornament to take home as a gift or to wear yourself.
Check out your neighbors’ art and see the beauty of your community at Family Fun Day at Minnetrista: See Your Surroundings. On November 1 from noon to 4 p.m., jump into fun and creative activities for the whole family.
Join Big Dawg Brewhaus, J. J. Winery, and Heorot around the fire and enjoy delicious mead during After Hours at Minnetrista: Mead at the Museum on October 24, from 5:30 to 9 p.m.!

Gather your family and friends and get involved with the local community garden on Minnetrista’s campus, started by Muncie group The Permaculture Initiative.
The Permaculture Garden is open to all community members who want to help the Permaculture Initiative maintain this project and other future projects.
