Check out the video below of the Ball FreshTECH Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker whipping up some pepper jelly! So, I forgot to put my hair up in this for this demonstation. OOPS! Let’s use that as a teaching moment—you should always put long hair up when you are canning. Learn from my forgetfulness!

Pepper Jelly Recipe

Pros

You’ve just seen the Ball FreshTECH Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker in action. Based on the video, you can see that it certainly has potential to make jamming a bit easier. The machine stirs for you and more importantly, to me at least, it also times out the jam and jelly. If you like gadgets and canning made simpler, then it’s a pretty handy contraption. The jam and jelly maker is also great if you enjoy small-batch canning or would like a wide variety of jams and jellies. Variety makes for a colorful canning cabinet and a multitude of flavors for a wide-ranging palate.

Cons

However, this machine may not be the best option for every home canner. If you like to make large batches of specific types of jams or jellies, then maybe the more traditional ways of making and canning them is a better fit for you.

Conclusion

If you enjoy new machines, small batch canning, and having a variety of spreads at hand, the Ball FreshTECH Automatic Jam and Jelly Maker is probably a good tool to add to your canning kit.

Have you purchased one of these machines? What are your thoughts about it?

As always, if you have any questions about this machine or canning in general, please feel free to leave a comment here and I’d love to talk with you!
