Carl and Sarah Warnes
Products: Baked Goods
If you're strolling through Farmers Market and you smell cinnamon through the crisp, morning air, you'll probably follow your nose to Carl and Sarah Warnes' tent. The couple has been a part of Farmers Market for eight years, and their baked goods have become a staple for many who come to the Market for breakfast or sweet treats—They are known for their ever-fresh cinnamon and orange rolls.

"The Market is very friendly," Sarah says. "It has become a much-anticipated social event and a source of wholesome, locally-grown food. Many of the vendors are experts on their products and produce, so it is an enriching experience to talk to the vendors."

Carl and Sarah make pies from scratch, and they frequently bring seasonal goods to sell, like black raspberry and gooseberry pies, items that are hard to come by in stores. They also bring along unique breads, such as sun-dried tomato-basil, Kalamata olive, and coriander.

The couple doesn't have a store, so they initially used Farmers Market as a way to connect with customers. Subsequently, the Warneses found an atmosphere that gave them a community. Sarah says, "The market has become more of a social event and meeting place than I ever expected. It's a place to see old friends and make new ones."

While the Warneses try to sell their baked goods to eager customers each week, they aren't afraid of naming their favorite product from a fellow vendor. Sarah says, "Maple walnut cookies from Mona of Under the Sun Bakery, because they're delicious. I should know!"

So if you're nearby with a cup of coffee at hand on a sunny Saturday morning, make sure to stop by, give these two a visit, and grab a homemade cinnamon roll…or two for good measure.
