To Tend and To Keep Farm Tom and Dawn SteffesPlant starts and produce Dawn Steffes always grew more produce than what she really needed for her family, so she and her husband, Tom, started bringing their produce to Farmers Market at Minnetrista. Now, three years later, To Tend and To Keep Farm offers dozens of varieties of peppers and tomatoes to customers. When you wander by Dawn and Tom's booth, you may be struck by the variety of peppers the couple brings with them. From usual to unusual, there is never a shortage of peppers to purchase. "People often call us the pepper people," laughs Dawn. And rightfully so. At one point last season, the couple offered more than 30 different varieties of peppers. Currently, the couple has around 20 varieties, still more than you will ever see lined up in a grocery store. |
