There is still hope for you at Farmers Market at Minnetrista. Kyle and Emily Becker are the owners of Beck Farms Cattle Company, and they just joined the vendor list at Farmers Market this season. They may be new to us, but they are pros in the cattle industry. Kyle is a food animal veterinarian, and the couple strives to develop a quality, lean final product. | |
| Each week, you can watch and smell as the Beckers prepare a simple meal on-site using their beef. They want you and other customers to have the opportunity to recognize their product by sight, smell, and taste. The Beckers have also been allowing customers to taste the BBQ sauce they use (a product provided by Tisha and Tom Sledd of Best Things). Since becoming a part of the Farmers Market community, Emily has taken note of the interaction between vendors and customers. "We like the mindset of the customers at the Market," she says. "They are interested in where their food comes from and how it is produced. They are supporters of local and sustainable agriculture, and they recognize and appreciate the quality and variety of products offered." In return, the Beckers are open and honest with their customers. Emily and Kyle want to be a resource for customers. "We are open to any and all questions that they (customers) may have in regards to our product and production practices," she says. The Beckers' efforts to provide honesty to their customers is just one example of what the vendors at Farmers Market provide for the community: fresh, local products from sincere, local people. | ||
